Battalion Chief Jim Drennan has followed in the long tradition of the Drennan firefighters. The Drennan family has given hundreds of years of fire fighting service to the Jersey City Fire Department.
Appointed to the Jersey City Fire Department in 1979 he worked in the Bergen Lafayette section of the city at Engine 20 Ladder 5 and Engine 10 Ladder 12 "The Valley of Death" .In 1991 he was assigned to the re-activated Rescue 1.
Presently Battalion Chief Drennan commands the Second Battalion in the Greenville section of the city.
Jim attended Rowan University / Glassboro State College where he majored in Communications. He received his B.S. in Fire Safety from New Jersey City University.
